Wrangler Power’s heavy-duty battery jumper cable kit simplifies giving a battery boost in the field
by Bruce W. Smith
Dead batteries are a common occurrence around construction sites.
New batteries get drained. Old batteries fail. People get in a hurry and leave lights or accessories on, or battery maintenance is ignored. It happens.
Whatever the reason, the vehicle with the dead battery isn’t going anywhere unless it gets a boost from another battery.
Having a set of jumper cables handy that can be plugged in quickly is a nice item to have on a work pickup.
One such setup we found that meets that criteria is the premium jumper setup from Wrangler Power.
Wrangler’s i-Light Battery Jumper cable system is designed with both safety and easy-of-use in mind. The set utilizes polarity-protected quick-connect plugs, 2-ga. ultra-flexible cables and heavy-duty clamps.
Installation takes less time than a short coffee break and the jumper cable plug-in connection can be mounted just about anywhere that you find convenient for such use.
The only “install” is connecting one cable half to the terminals of the host battery in your pickup, running the quick-connect receptacle through the grille to the bumper — or in our case, the side brace on the truck’s Go Industries grille guard, and bolting into position.
A little trick in mounting the connector is to use 1/4-inch-thick aluminum spacers between the plug’s flat face and the mounting surface to make it easier to grab and connect/disconnect the jumper cable end.
That’s what we did installing the Wrangler Power’s i-Light Battery Jumper Cable system on our 2011 GMC Sierra, Project Bedrock.
No muss. No fuss.
Just a clean, easy battery jumper cable system to give another vehicle’s or piece of equipment’s dead battery a needed boost.
